London's oldest family-run restaurant! This third-generation neighbourhood venue has been serving regional specialities since 1967. Chef Eduardo Chiavarini (who has worked the kitchen here for almost 30 years) does a fabulous line of comforting classics from the Emilia-Romagna region, with its culinary superstars of parmesan, parma ham and aged balsamic vinegar. Much of the menu is sourced from the family’s farm in Kent, which is still run by the restaurant’s founder, Pino Chiavarini. Tuck into the likes of veal Milanese, pappardelle with pork belly and monkfish soup while tippling from an Italian-focused wine list. *Shot on location within the dark, but cosy restaurant, studio lights were required, along with dozens of props (chosen from my large collection of kitchenalia).
